Whalemen's Shipping List Archivally Framed Double Sided

$450.00Price
  • An original Whalemen's Shipping List and Merchant Register March 14, 1899. New Bedford, Massachusetts.

While the Whalemen's Shipping Lists are not uncommon, this example benefits from archival framing and double-glazed museum glass. Originally intended as a highly visual presentation piece, the framing on this item accounts for most of its value. Nonetheless, the shipping list has beautiful period advertising, including two ads from the J and W.R. Wing Company, owners of the whaleship Charles W. Morgan, preserved at Mystic Seaport and the last of its kind. Additionally, news articles regarding New Hampshire Governor Rollins calling the state's children home, several delicious articles about "How They Do It In France," the need for more trees in New York City, and a list of whaleships and their returns make this a wonderfuland visually appealing gift for the maritime enthusiast.
